The Good Route — Festive Decor, Rakhis & Natural Skincare in India

The Good Route makes small-batch festive and self-care pieces: handmade diyas, rakhi and lumba sets, candles, and botanical skincare such as facial steams. Most of the range is made by hand in India in short runs, tied to the festival calendar.

What to look for

• Diyas — terracotta and clay diyas hold heat better and last across seasons if stored dry. Soak new terracotta diyas in water for an hour before first use so they do not drink up the oil.
• Rakhis — cotton or jute thread rather than polyester, with wood, clay or fabric detailing instead of plastic stones. Lumba sets are the traditional pairing for a bhabhi.
• Candles — check the wax base. Soy and coconut wax burn cleaner and slower than paraffin.
• Facial steam — dried botanical blends for a 5–10 minute steam. Keep your face about 30cm from the bowl and skip it entirely if you have rosacea or broken capillaries.
• Order early — handmade festive stock is limited and sells out close to Raksha Bandhan and Diwali.

The range is vegan — no beeswax, silk thread or animal-derived glue.
