Vegan Personal Care Products in India

Personal care is where animal-derived ingredients hide most often. Glycerin, stearic acid, squalene, collagen and shellac can all be animal or plant sourced, and the label rarely says which. Every product in this collection is confirmed vegan by the vendor, and none are tested on animals.

What to look for on the pack

• A full INCI list. A short ingredient list with no INCI names is a warning sign, not a virtue.
• Manufacturing and expiry dates, plus a period-after-opening symbol. Preservative-light formulas have shorter shelf lives.
• Deodorants: aluminium-free products reduce odour but do not stop sweating — that is the trade-off, and honest brands say so.
• Oral care: check whether the toothpaste contains fluoride; if it does not, that is a choice you should make deliberately.
• Menstrual products: look for a stated absorbency and, for cups, medical-grade silicone.
• Packaging: aluminium, glass and paperboard are widely recycled in India; multi-layer plastic tubes are not.
