Soy Wax & Natural Wax Candles in India
Candles here are poured in plant-based waxes rather than paraffin, with cotton wicks. All vegan — no beeswax anywhere in the range.
How to choose a candle
- Wax type. Soy burns cooler and longer than paraffin and cleans up with soap and warm water. Coconut and soy blends throw scent a little better. Paraffin is a petroleum by-product, which is why it is not used here.
- Wick. Cotton and wood wicks both work; the wick should be centred and no more than a few millimetres above the wax. Trim to about 5mm before every burn — this is the single biggest factor in whether a candle soots.
- Scent load. A stronger scent throw is not always better. For a bedroom, a lighter throw is more comfortable; for an open living room, you need more.
- Vessel size. Match the diameter to the room. A narrow jar in a large room will tunnel rather than fill it.
Getting a full burn
On the first light, let the melt pool reach the edge of the vessel — usually one to two hours. Candles have a memory: if the first burn tunnels, every later burn will too. Keep away from draughts, and stop burning when about 1cm of wax remains.
