- As tea: whisk half a teaspoon with a little water at about 80 C until frothy, then top up.
- As a latte: whisk to a paste first, then blend with warm dairy or plant-based milk.
- In cooking: sift into smoothies, desserts and bakes to avoid lumps.
- Type: ceremonial grade matcha, powdered green tea
- Storage: keep the pack airtight, cool and dark; refrigerate after opening to protect colour and aroma
- Matcha is whole leaf in powder form, so a serving carries more caffeine than an equivalent cup of steeped green tea.
- Boiling water makes matcha bitter — keep it around 80 C.
- Colour naturally dulls with age and air exposure; use within a few weeks of opening for the best cup.
Ceremonial grade matcha from Lluvia Tea is a finely milled green tea powder made from shade-grown leaves. The powder is vivid green with a smooth, gently sweet, faintly grassy taste and very little bitterness. It suits both the traditional whisked bowl and everyday use in lattes, smoothies and baking.

FAQs
Do I need a bamboo whisk?
It helps, but a small milk frother or a jar shaken vigorously will also break up the powder.
Why does my matcha taste bitter?
Usually water that is too hot, or too much powder. Start with half a teaspoon and water off the boil.
Can I use it for baking?
Yes. Sift it with the dry ingredients so it disperses evenly.
