- Description
- Additional info
- Single ingredient: Darjeeling orthodox black tea
- Whole leaf, not CTC granules or tea dust
- Flavour: floral and fruity with muscatel character and a brisk finish
- Pale amber liquor — lighter than Assam, despite being a black tea
- Best drunk without milk
- 2 to 2.5 g of leaf per 200 ml cup.
- Water just off the boil, around 90 to 95 C.
- Steep 3 minutes. Longer draws out tannin and flattens the muscatel note.
- Drink black, without sugar. Re-steep once for a lighter second cup.
- Type: orthodox black tea, whole leaf, single origin
- Region: Darjeeling
- Storage: airtight container, cool and dry, away from light and strong odours
- Contains caffeine.
- Leaf appearance and cup colour shift between flushes and seasons; this is normal for single-origin Darjeeling.
- Darjeeling brews paler than Assam — a light cup is not a weak cup.
This is a single-origin Darjeeling orthodox black tea — whole leaf, unblended and unflavoured. Orthodox processing keeps the leaf largely intact, which is why the cup is light in colour, brisk, and carries the floral, fruity and muscatel notes Darjeeling is known for. It is for drinkers who want to taste the garden rather than a blend.

FAQs
Can I take this with milk?
You can, but milk masks the floral and muscatel notes. Most Darjeeling drinkers take it black.
How is it different from the Assam-based teas in this range?
Assam is malty, dark and full-bodied. Darjeeling is lighter, brisker and more aromatic, with fruit and flower notes instead of malt.
Is it loose leaf or bagged?
Loose leaf. Use an infuser, a strainer or a pot.
