The warm-toned version of JOD's woven fabric-waste frames: maroon, orange, yellow and green strips interlaced through exposed vertical warp threads inside a wooden frame. The heat in the palette makes it a different proposition from the cool blue-green piece — it lifts a neutral or white wall instead of settling into it. Made entirely from fabric that would otherwise have been discarded.

• Bright reds and yellows are the shades most affected by strong sunlight, so placement matters more with this piece than with darker ones
• Every frame is woven individually, so strip widths and colour order vary

FAQs

Which wall colour does it suit?

It reads strongest against white, cream or pale grey. On an already warm wall the contrast softens considerably.

Is it the same size as the blue and green frame?

Both are built on the same wooden frame format, so they hang as a matched pair despite the different palettes.

Can I clean a mark off it?

Only by gentle dry brushing. Wetting reclaimed fabric can move dye between the strips.

What is behind the fabric?

Nothing solid — the strips are woven through warp threads stretched across the frame, so the piece is open rather than mounted on board.
