Good to Know

• Jute is absorbent. Standing water will stain and weaken the rope, so it is a cover for a pot rather than a pot itself
• Shade and weave differ slightly between baskets because they are made by hand

FAQs

Can I plant directly into it?

No. Keep the plant in a nursery pot with a saucer and place that inside the basket.

Will it stand up on its own when empty?

The rope holds a reasonable shape but it is soft-sided, so it slouches a little when empty and firms up once filled.

Is the black colour likely to transfer?

Keep it dry and it should not. Avoid pressing damp light-coloured fabric against it for long stretches.
