Sustainable Men's Wear in India — Bamboo, Organic Cotton & Hemp

Menswear here is built around three fabrics that hold up in Indian weather: bamboo viscose, organic cotton and hemp. All pieces are vegan — no wool, silk or leather trims — and cover t-shirts, shirts, innerwear, loungewear and everyday basics from independent Indian labels.

Choosing between the fabrics

• Bamboo viscose — the softest of the three and the best at moving moisture, which makes it the sensible pick for innerwear and humid coastal summers. Our bamboo fabric carries OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, meaning it has been tested for harmful substances.
• Organic cotton — grown without synthetic pesticides, breathable, and the most forgiving to wash. Best for daily tees and shirts.
• Hemp — stiff at first and softens with every wash. The longest-lasting option and good for overshirts and trousers.

What to check

• GSM: 160–180 for a t-shirt that keeps its shape; below 140 will thin out quickly.
• Fibre percentages on the label — "cotton blend" with no numbers usually means majority polyester.
• Seams and stitching: double-stitched shoulders and side seams are the cheapest signal of build quality.
• Shrinkage: even pre-shrunk cotton loses 2–3% on first wash. Size up if you are between sizes.
