What to check when buying kids' clothes

• Fabric — cotton and bamboo breathe in Indian heat; polyester blends trap sweat and are a common cause of prickly heat.
• Dyes — our bamboo fabric is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, which tests for harmful substances including restricted azo dyes. The strictest limits in that standard apply to babywear.
• Seams and labels — flat seams and printed or tear-away labels avoid the neck itch children complain about.
• Room to grow — organic cotton shrinks slightly on first wash, so sizing up is sensible.
• Wash performance — kids' clothes are washed constantly. Cold wash and line dry keeps colour and elastic intact for longer.

Everything here is vegan and cruelty-free — no wool, silk or leather trims.
