- Dutch-processing destroys flavour — Most commercial hot chocolate powders use alkali-treated (Dutch-processed) cocoa, which neutralises acidity and raises pH. This destroys the natural fruity, complex flavour compounds in cocoa and produces the flat, one-dimensional 'chocolate' flavour most people associate with hot chocolate. Non-alkalized cocoa retains all its natural flavour complexity.
- Antioxidant retention — Dutch processing reduces the flavanol content of cocoa by up to 90%. Non-alkalized cocoa retains the full polyphenol profile of the original cacao bean.
- Single-origin sourcing — The cocoa in Choco Sip comes from a specific farm region, not blended commodity cocoa. You taste a place, not just 'chocolate'.
- Heat your preferred plant milk (oat milk recommended for the creamiest result) to 70–80°C — do not boil.
- Add 2–3 heaped teaspoons of Choco Sip per 200ml of milk.
- Whisk thoroughly until fully dissolved and no lumps remain.
- Taste and adjust sweetness — the jaggery in the powder provides mild sweetness; add a little more jaggery or coconut sugar if you prefer it sweeter.
