What hemp cotton is like to wear

• Hand feel. Dry and slightly structured when new; it softens and relaxes with each wash and wear rather than the other way round.
• Warm weather. Hemp fibre is breathable and dries quickly, which is why the range leans towards shirts, dresses and loose trousers.
• Creasing. Like linen, hemp cotton creases — that is part of the look. A warm iron or a steamer sets it back.
• Care. Cold or 30°C machine wash, line dry, iron while slightly damp. Avoid tumble drying.

A hemp-cotton blend. Blending with cotton makes the fabric softer from the first wear than pure hemp, which starts stiff.

Does hemp clothing shrink?
A little on the first cold wash is normal. Wash cold, line dry and avoid the tumble dryer to keep it to a minimum.

Is hemp clothing good for Indian summers?
It is one of the better natural fabrics for heat — breathable, quick to dry and lighter than it looks.
