Copper Kada for Men — Pure Copper Bracelets & Bands
Copper Kada for Men — Bands, Bracelets & Cuffs
Copper kadas suited to a man's wrist — broader twisted and three-rope bands, diamond-cut and hammered finishes, seven-chakra engraved cuffs and magnet-set designs, all in solid unplated copper and all adjustable. The same pieces are worn by women too; the narrower and carved styles sit in copper bracelets for women. Copper (tamba) has been worn against the skin in Ayurvedic tradition for generations. These are traditional and decorative pieces, not medical devices: controlled trials on copper and magnetic bracelets have generally not found a measurable effect on joint pain, so wear one for the tradition and the look, and see a doctor about treating a condition.
Picking a men's kada
- Everyday: the three-rope and twisted bands — substantial without being loud, and they take daily knocks well.
- More finish: diamond-cut and hammered surfaces catch light and hide small scratches better than a plain polish.
- Engraved and magnet-set: seven-chakra cuffs and magnetic bands, worn as tradition rather than treatment.
- Dual-wear: one design opens out to sit on the ankle or upper arm — see copper anklets and armlets.
Fit and care
- Sizing. Measure around the wrist bone with a string and add about 1cm. Ease an open kada to fit once — repeated bending work-hardens copper and eventually cracks it.
- Patina. Unplated copper darkens with wear. That is ordinary oxidation and a sign the metal is genuine; plated brass stays bright and flakes.
- Green marks where copper meets sweat are harmless and wash off with soap and water. They show more after a workout or in humid weather.
- Cleaning. Half a lemon dipped in salt, or a little tamarind paste, then rinse and dry. No steel wool or harsh polish.
Frequently asked questions
Which wrist should a man wear a copper kada on?
The most common convention in India is the right wrist for men, though many families place it on the dominant hand instead. There is no functional difference.
Is this solid copper or plated?
Solid, unplated copper throughout — no plating and no mixed-alloy coating.
Does a copper kada help arthritis or joint pain?
No. Controlled trials on copper and magnetic bracelets have generally not found a measurable effect on joint pain. Wear one for the tradition, not as treatment.
Can I wear a copper kada at the gym?
Yes, though sweat speeds up tarnishing and makes green marks more likely. Wipe it dry afterwards and it stays clean.
What width of copper kada suits a larger wrist?
The three-rope and twisted bands are the broadest and open widest. Measure with a string and add about 1cm before choosing.
Is copper safe to wear every day?
Yes for most people. A few find copper irritating against the skin and should stop if redness appears.
How long does delivery take within India?
Pan-India delivery in 3–5 days.
