Premium Bionaturals produces the Hygenia and Green King ranges: multipurpose disinfectants, fabric refreshers, hand sanitisers, hand washes and a fruit-and-vegetable wash, formulated with essential oils, aloe vera and vitamin E rather than heavy synthetic perfume loads.

What to look at on the label

• Contact time. Disinfectants only work if the surface stays wet for the stated dwell time — usually 30 seconds to a few minutes. Wiping immediately defeats the product.
• Alcohol percentage in a hand sanitiser. Below 60% is not doing much; aloe and vitamin E are there to offset the drying.
• Fruit and vegetable wash — meant to lift surface residue, wax and grime from produce. Rinse thoroughly with clean water afterwards and use it only on items you will eat.
• Fabric refresher — for between-wash freshening on upholstery, curtains and clothes. Spot-test on a hidden seam before spraying silk-look or delicate fabric.
• Dilution — concentrates are the cheaper option per use, but only when measured rather than eyeballed.
